Sphere of authority. There shall be a National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee, which shall have general oversight of the Junior Bible Quiz program.
b.
Purpose. The purpose of the National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee shall be as follows:
To oversee the ministry of Junior Bible Quiz at the national level.
To solicit nominations for new members and elect new members, subject to ratification by the Sunday School Agency of the Assemblies of God.
To approve all changes in the Official Junior Bible Quiz Guidelines. All changes must receive a 2/3 majority. Input on proposed changes would be solicited from district and/or regional Junior Bible Quiz coordinators. In addition, any individual, as stated in the Guidelines, may suggest changes in the Guidelines.
To offer recommendations to Gospel Publishing House for the development and/or provision of resources to support the Junior Bible Quiz program.
To suggest ways to better promote JBQ in order to involve more children in the memorization and understanding of the great teachings of the Bible.
To serve in an advisory capacity, as requested, to the Festival Steering Committee.
To annually review the financial records of income and expenditure of the National Festival.
To recommend additional festivals or invitational quiz meets.
To give endorsement to multi-district festivals as requested by the sponsor(s). Only endorsed festivals will be promoted through national publications or mailings. Such festivals would not be called a "national" festival.
c.
Membership. The National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee shall consist of eighteen members, constituted as follows:
The National Junior Bible Quiz Coordinator, who shall serve as chair,
The national director of the Division of Christian Education,
The director of the Sunday School Field Ministries,
The director of the Children's Ministries Agency,
The chairman of the National Junior Bible Quiz Festival,
The assistant chairman of the National Junior Bible Quiz Festival,
Two district Christian Education directors,
A representative from each of the eight geographic regions,
A representative from the language regions and
An at-large representative whose involvement in the program exceeds ten years.

The two district Christian Education directors, nine members representing each of the regions and the at-large representative will serve three-year terms. They may succeed themselves for an additional term. To assure continuity, the initial terms of office of the regional representatives shall be staggered. Four members shall be appointed for three-year terms, four for initial four-year terms, and three for initial five-year terms. The initial appointments shall be made from among nominations solicited from district Sunday School directors and ratified by the Sunday School Agency.

The National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee shall meet annually, previous to, or during, the National Festival. The committee may also function and make decisions by mail or conference calls. Members will be asked to serve at their own, or their church's expense.
d.
Executive Committee. There shall be an executive committee which shall consist of five members, constituted as follows: the National Junior Bible Quiz Coordinator, the national director of the Division of Christian Education, the director of the Sunday School Field Ministries, the director of the Children's Ministry Agency, and the chairman of the National Junior Bible Quiz Festival. The executive committee shall act on behalf of the National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee in matters pertaining to:
The appointment of subcommittees that will report to the annual meeting of the National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee.
An action required prior to the annual meeting of the National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee.
The preparations for the annual meeting of the National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee.
A response to Gospel Publishing House concerning Junior Bible Quiz resources current and/or in development. In such cases, effort should be made to gain input from the members of the National Junior Bible Quiz Advisory Committee if possible.
