Version 1.5 CD Patch Instructions
Print these instructions before proceeding!

To download the patch:

1. Click on the link below. You will be shown a window asking you to choose whether to run the program (open the file) or save to disk. Choose Save.
   
   
2. A “Save As” window will open. You need to locate the FactPak folder created when you installed the BFP program. Double-click on each of the following folders to find the FactPak folder:
   
          • My Computer
          • C: disk (This may be called Disk 1, local disk, etc.)
          • Program Files
          • FactPak
   
   
3. With the FactPak folder showing in the “Save As” window, click the Save button. (If you have a dial-up modem, the download process might take up to 15 minutes.)
   
   
4. When the download is complete, close the download window. You may exit the Internet at this time.

To install the patch:

1. Find the Windows Explorer program on your computer. (This is usually located through the “Start” button.)
   
   
2. In Windows Explorer, locate the FactPak folder following the same path as given in step 2 above.
   
   
3. With the FactPak folder showing in the “Address” field, you should be able to find a file called BFPPatchInstall. Double-click this file.
   
   
4. A pop-up window will appear asking you to click Setup. Do this.
   
   
5. When Setup is complete, close the Windows Explorer window.

You can now run the updated BFP program simply by double-clicking the FactPak icon that was created on your desktop when you first installed the program. You can verify that the updates have been applied by finding some new features, including:

• Under “Question Components” there is a choice called “Point Value.”
  
  
• Under “Round Options” there are new choices at the bottom regarding duplicate question functionality.

Other new features:

• All the typos and word errors have been corrected.
  
  
• You will not get duplicate questions in the same round.
  
  
• You can choose whether to have all the questions in the set used with each round, or to use up all the questions in a set before allowing duplicates.
  
  
• When “Use All Selected Q’s Before Allowing Duplicates” is checked, the program will automatically provide duplicates for an individual point value that becomes used up. For example, if you run out of 30-point questions before the 10’s are used up, the program will begin to duplicate only the 30-point questions.
  
  
• You can now choose whether or not to print the point value when creating Study Guides or Question Books.
  
  
• You can now do a “Save As” on any Custom Group. This function will allow you to pull up one custom group, give it a new title, and make modifications to the new group while retaining the original group.
  
  
• You can now print multiple Custom Groups and the program will keep each group separate from the others. To do this, choose “Multi-Group Guide” in the “Type of Printout” field.
  
  
• The program will not allow you to enter incorrect numbers in the “Question Range” fields. In the past, entering incorrect numbers could cause the program to lock up.
  
  
• You can now sort by length of interrupt. Find this feature under “Sorting.” Choose Word Interrupt or Sound Interrupt. The program will sort the questions by the number of characters in the interrupt portion.
  
  
• The Scoresheet margins have been changed so you won’t lose any copy when printing.
  
  
• When performing an alpha sort, the program will now correctly include the words “Quotation Question.”
  
  
• A blank line is placed between questions with no scoring helps.
  
  
• The KJV answers are now indented, like the NIV answers were.

CD-ROM Patch
